Pozza di Fassa
In the center of Val di Fassa (Val di Fassa) in the province of Trento (Trento) there is a beautiful resort town of Pozza di Fassa (Pozza di Fassa). In addition, above the resort of Pozza di Fassa there is Catinaccio ski area with 40 kilometers of ski runs. With the help of fast lifts you can easily get to ski areas Campitello and Alba di Canazei.
In winter, Pozza calls snow lovers to the improved Buffaure area with 25 kilometers of ski runs; it can boast with one of the longest runs in the Val di Fassa. The come-down begins at an altitude of 2050 meters and goes down to the village. You can quickly come to Buffaure with the help of a modern cable railway, enjoying an unforgettable view of the mountains Catinaccio, Latemar, Sassolungo glowing at sunset. Apart from skiing, there is an opportunity to go snowboarding, tobogganing or go for a walk in snowshoes. In Pozza di Fassa, you can also take a ride on an outdoor skating rink, which is open to visitors during the whole week.
A peculiar feature of the resort Pozza di Fassa is a modern ski area of Val di Fassa - a real snow stadium, equipped with lights for night skiing, with ski runs and routes appropriate for international ski competitions, as well as for training. The Italian national team in alpine skiing trains here. A famous Italian skier Alberto Tomba trained here, too. One can hire equipment for skiing at this stadium. A mini club Tananaev is situated there; it has a kindergarten and a ski area for little guests.
With the help of a ski bus, just in a few minutes you can reach the ski resort of Canazei, where the "trip around the world" Sella Ronda starts.
Pozza offers cross-country skiers access to the route Marchalonga (Marcialonga) and exciting skiing on the ski runs of Siancoal.
In the evening many restaurants, bars, pizzerias, cafes, discos and gambling halls open. In Pozza di Fassa you can stay in comfortable hotels. Many of them have saunas, swimming pools and steam rooms.
An important event of these places is an annual fun Ladin Carnival costume. Locals wear traditional costumes and wooden masks the characters of legends started manually.
Among the oldest buildings of the village are the Zulian house, which has a fresco depicting the Crucifixion made in 1658, the Polam house with a new coat of arms. The parish church dedicated to Mary Help of Christians was built in 1957 by an architect Dario Albertini.
