The Italian municipality Peio (Peio) is located in the province of Trento (Trento) in Val di Peio (Val di Peio). It is famous for its curative hot springs known from 1650, which contain much ferrum. The city has a population of 1800; it is situated at an altitude of 1173 meters above sea level. The municipality of Peio includes numerous villages: Cogolo di Peio (Cogolo di Peio), Chelentino (Celentino), Chelleditstso (Celledizzo), Peio Fonti (Peio Fonti), Peio Pass (Peio Passe) and Strombiano (Strombiano).
Peio is the highest mountain village in Trentino and the oldest tourist resort in Val di Sole. It is surrounded by some of the highest peaks of Trentino: Cevedale (Cevedale) - 3764 meters, Palon de la Mare (Palon de la Mare) - 3703 meters, Vioz (Vioz) - 3644 meters and Saint Matthew (San Matteo) - 3684 meters.
Peio is a popular ski resort. It is situated in the heart of the Stelvio National Park, where you can ski, explore the park going in snowshoes or practice ski mountaineering in the breathtaking landscapes of the reserved territory.
Here 16 km of ski runs are laid; their length varies from 1400 to 2400 meters. Peio is a popular destination for skiers and snowboarders; there are excellent lifts and qualified ski schools with experienced instructors.
You can go skiing on the slopes of various difficulty, they are never crowded with tourists. There are several runs for lovers of hiking. Also there is a skiing area specially for children.
The skiing area in Peio (including 6 lifts and 20 kilometers of ski runs) is easily accessible from all local picturesque villages, due to a number of free ski buses.

Due to the cable-railway "Peugeot 3000" and a new ski run "Variante dei Monti", Peio ski resort is also attractive for experienced and demanding skiers.
A huge snow park "Byankaneve» (Biancaneve) is situated on the territory if the resort. It includes a track for tobogganing, a track for tubing, an area for curling, a skating rink and a children's park.
