San Candido

San Candido a town with 3175 inhabitants in the province of Bolzano, in the valley of northern Italy - Alta. In addition, it is also a commercial city. It is located in the heart of the Natural Park Sesto Dolomites, at the foot of Mount Baranci.

Among them we must certainly include the church Kolledzhyata which is open to the public every day of the week. This Romanesque church was built in honor of San Maykla in 1043 on the site of a Benedictine monastery. In 1735 the church was rebuilt in Baroque style. Nearby is a huge bell tower, inside which houses works of art with magnificent frescoes Michael Packer and a large wooden crucifix on the main altar.

We should also note the Franciscan monastery church that overlooks the river Sesto, dedicated to St. Leopold and built in the late seventeenth century. It is also significant the historic library of the monastery, now preserved in Bolzano.
