Trentino Alto Adige
Trentino Alto Adige represents one of the northern door to reach Europe, by Switzerland and Austria.
The region is famous for its hundreds and hundreds Castles, historical Buildings, luxury Palaces, and furthermore Churces and Chapels.
Daily cultural events are always in program in whole territory of Trentino Alto Adige, in museums, exhibition, special events. This area is rich in cultural and historical heritage that occupies over half a million people.
Two only cities: Trento and Bolzano.
Even if Trentino Alto Adige is part of Italian State, most part of its population prefers to speak in German instead of Italian, and in some remote areas among the mountains, there are whole villages that speak Ladino language.
All the territory of the region is made up of mountains, little rivers, valleys, glaciers and lakes, little typical villages built with local building all in wood. The main mountains are Ortler and Monte Cevedale without forgetting the whole complex of Dolomiti mountains; from them a lot of valley take name as Val Pusteria, Val Venosta, Val di Fiemme, Val di Fassa. The main river is Adige, but also important are Isarco and Sarca.
Tourism both in summer and winter represents a great activity in the economy of the region. Many resorts are located in the picturesque landscape of Dolomiti.
The climate of Trentino-Alto Adige is mostly alpine. Winters are cold and snowy from November till End of March, the temperature ranges from -5 ° C to -10 ° C in the coldest months and in the summer the average is from 30 ° C to 35 ° C. In autumn and spring usually rains.
During the winter season this little region becomes one of the ideal destination for ski’s lovers: Trentino Alto Adige offers km and km of wonderful ski runs for beginners and for great experts, but also possibility for doing snow-board, ice-skating, and other “winter” sports.
For all visitators, the region puts at disposal a large variety of accommodation: hotels, aparthotels, apartments, residence and chalet. They are located in several areas near the ski-slopes or near the main ski resorts, they offer all comforts that clients need. A great attention also to the family with children, with the possibility to ski school teacher at disposal for learning also to the little kids how to ski.
For the summer, possibility to have excursions around the km of green paths around the mountains, by bike or simply on foot, visiting the little villages and the little farm where the owner produce locally cheese and bread.
Just some words for the regional cuisine : famous all over the world are the Apples produced in Trentino Alto Adige; the Speck, it’s a smoked ham typical of that area; and then Cheese, Bread, Cakes as the “Strudel” staffed with apples; Fish coming from the quantity of lakes scattered in all the region, always cooked and matched with “polenta”; a note also to the wines as Pinto, Riesling and Traminer and why not to the schnapps too.
